“Your product saved my life,” is the last thing I ever expected to hear about cacovu.  “Refreshing”?  Yes, I’ve heard that a lot.  “Chocolatey”?  All the time.  But a lifesaver? Never in a million years.  Even so, that is what a repeat customer, let’s call him “Kyle”, claimed when he bought his most recent bottle.

Of course, he didn’t mean that literally.  He meant that it got him through a challenging moment in what he describes as his “intense” job of narrating audiobooks.

Imagine Kyle’s job for a minute.  You spend your day in a studio reading aloud, using your voice as your instrument.  You add empathy, relatability and humanity to words written by someone else.  And the whole time, you gotta bring the same energy, word after word, page after page, for hours on end.  Yeah, that’s intense.

If you’re like Kyle how do you keep that energy going?  Well, you could chug coffee all day and then hope for the best.  But what if your doctor is telling you to cut back on caffeine?  What if that afternoon cup of coffee is going to keep you up all night?  Then, afternoon coffee is not for you.

We all go through it, that time in the middle of the afternoon when your energy dips and your body is begging for a pause.  Some call it the “doldrums”, I call it “nap o’clock.”  At 2 PM I either want to sleep or a magic bit of energy to keep going.  That’s the moment my product shines.

On a recent afternoon, Kyle’s producer noticed the performer’s energy was low.  That doesn’t make for a good audiobook listen. The producer recommended an espresso.  Instead, Kyle filled his cup with some cacovu Mama Vira he’d bought from me the week before.  Twenty minutes later, energy back up, moment met.  Life saved?  Obviously not, but it got Kyle through the rest of that recording session and made him a cacovu believer. Now he goes out of his way to get his next bottle.

People ask me all the time about the caffeine in cacovu.  What they’re really asking is if they can drink it instead of coffee.  I tell them, if you need a big jolt of caffeine to get you going in the morning, this won’t give it to you.  Coffee is still your best first cup.  But when you need some gentle energy to get you through your afternoon, you need a different second cup.  I put cacovu in mine and now so does Kyle.

Are there more Kyles out there?  Yes, millions.  They are my people. My job is to find them, one “nap o’clock” at a time.
